On 13 July 1964 the Twenty-sixth OCS class, of eighty-four fresh new cadets, marched in for twelve months of extremely testing training designed to ascertain if these potential officers possessed the necessary physical and mental toughness and leadership ability to lead an infantry platoon into war. Sixty-seven of these had previous military experience although not all in arms corps. These lucky ones were able to settle in relatively easily unlike the civilian entries that had to begin from scratch. This book outlines their training and recollections of the experience followed by a short precis of their post OCS careers and life.
