The Emerald Emperor

Douglas Thorsby has been kidnapped. The criminal organization he helped thwart in his search for the origins of a mysterious metal cylinder he was given have decided that he can be useful to them in their own pursuit of the treasure the cylinder reveals. Now his friends, the American agent McAllister and the Chinese investigator Jen, have to track him across China before he is lost, trapped between the sands of the remote desert and the grasping hands of the murderous Jang and his partners, who will stop at nothing to realize their plan to reset the balance of power in Asia, even at the risk of war.
