Dusty Star was an Indian boy who was given a wolf-cub for a pet and trained as a dog. As he was training the pup he gained insight into the mind of the wolf, until he was almost half a wolf himself. Even among the Indian people such a friendship was uncanny and the jealous and distrustful in the tribe attempted to kill the wolf. Dusty Star and his companion wolf ran away into the land of Carboons, where they experienced many adventures. Olaf Baker is a published author of children's books. Some of the published credits of Olaf Baker include Shasta of the Wolves, Where the Buffaloes Begin. This version of Dusty Star includes original illustrations.
