How to Be the Second Man in the Ministry

Many books have been written about the Pastor and the responsibilities of his office. However, much less has been written about men of God who serve in a subordinate position in the ministry. These are men who are very definitely called by God into the ministry, but who for at least some period of time (maybe a lifetime) are expected to serve under another man. These men are placed in a unique and sometimes very difficult position, much like the wife in a marriage. What does God expect from these men? This book focuses heavily upon those who have been called to serve under some other man. Since God's normal way to accomplish His work is through a team, our goal is to reveal exactly what God desires from those He places in a subordinate position to another man of God. In 1981, Cliff and his wife, Beth, moved to Atchison, Kansas to plant a church. Cliff pastored in Atchison for over 23 years. During that time the church operated a Christian school and a Bible Institute. Several hundred people were saved and thousands of dollars were given to missions. Cliff has served as an associate pastor of Empire Baptist Temple for the past 9 years. His duties include administrator of Empire Baptist Academy, professor on the faculty of Great Plains Baptist Divinity School, and chaplain with the state prison system, city police department and county sheriff's department. Cliff has continued his formal education over the years and earned his Doctorate of Ministries degree in 2009.
