A young Englishman leaves his native country in 1853 for America to find land and have the life he's always dreamed about. As he journeyed to the West, he worked his way to the Illinois Prairie. Ned is thankful for the family who he begins working for and who have befriended him in his new country. He has never before witnessed the faith, love, and friendship they show him.
Hannah, a young girl in this family, finds him interesting, yet peculiar in some ways. She tries to help him become accustomed to the prairie she loves. What else awaits him in this land? Will she be able to help make his dream become more than he could have ever hoped for?
Englishman on the Prairie is a realistic fictional story based partially on real-life ancestral characters.
