Revenge may be a dish best served cold, but in Louisiana everything gets a splash of hot sauce.
Louisiana State Patrol Detective Cooter "Cadillac" Holland is called upon to locate State Senator Chester Donovan's missing daughter-in-law. A pool of blood in the trunk of her Mercedes implicates the senator's son in her apparent murder, but his disappearance is just the first wrinkle Cadillac encounters. The detective is anxious to solve this case and get back to New Orleans, as the town of Donovan, Louisiana is known as being a place 'where there are more alligators than people, and the alligators are friendlier."
The case begins to peel away secrets the town has done its best to keep hidden from the outside world, and the existence of an innovative serial killer who might put Detective Holland to their to-do list if he doesn't find them first.
