A story of two Zimbabweans who rose from rural life and ended up in the most powerful country in the world. When Obert Mashongamhende and Florence Bowa met each other in 1967 in Harare (then Salisbury), Zimbabwe (then Rhodesia), they could not have imagined that they would both end up raising five children and starting a successful business in Harare, and then moving to the United States of America in 2014. Their story also chronicles the early struggles faced by blacks in Rhodesia during colonial rule in the 1960s and 70s. Most importantly, their story demonstrates the importance of never giving up. They also share the secret to their 51 year marriage.
