Doctors and Consumer Protection: Law, Justice and Reality takes a comprehensive overview of the development of consumerism in India and at international level. It contains an overview of medical negligence cases and the principles of law laid down by consumer courts and judiciary in India. This book is the outcome of the author's well-researched dissertation of his doctoral thesis titled, "A Study of Efficacy of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in Relation to Private Medical Service in Pune." It also covers analysis of consumer cases and overall efficacy of Consumers' Disputes Redressal Agencies.

The book puts forward the findings of the research and suggestions to the lawyers, voluntary consumer's organisations, patients, doctors, hospitals and the government to improve the state of affair in consumerism.

Certain precautions are suggested to avoid consumer's litigations. The books explains how the Consumer Protection law works in India, especially in medical services. Attacks on doctors and hospitals by patient's relatives are a matter of concern in India today.
