Jack is riddled with guilt, not only over his own personal past, but Ellie's and Sophie's as well. The powder keg was ready to blow, and he didn't know how to handle it. Gathering what he needed, he snuck away while the others were busy. He really needed to get things together, that's when a plan started to form. He zigzagged his way to Peru, hoping to find the old shaman, they'd met on a previous mission, whose parting words were'When you're ready to let go of the ghosts, come find me.'
