Memoirs of a Woken Dreamer

TiWanna Marie is an inspirational poet from Texas. She started writing poetry as a child after reading Maya Angelou's poem "Phenomenal Woman." Maya Angelou's words flowed so effortlessly and began to reach TiWanna on a personal level. In sixth grade, TiWanna won the Martin Luther King Writers Award and was announced in the Nokoa Newspaper. It is at this time that she realized that writing and reaching people was exactly what she was designed to do. For years, she wrote poems and gave them to people as gifts of uplifting words of encouragement. She found an abundant joy in seeing people's reaction as they read her poetry and found hope. In 2012, her brother passed away, and her sight of word became very clear. As time passed she found a way to cope with her feelings and began to write Memoirs of a Woken Dreamer. She hopes that this book will reach a wide audience from the grieving and brokenhearted to anyone who needs an uplifting word and invites you on her journey of healing. TiWanna believes that poetry is the expression of the soul and should be shared with others in hopes to show the world that we all have a voice and should share it with one another. The unheard voice is one that should never be forgotten. We as a people can create a sound that changes the world, but we must come together. Memoirs of a Woken Dreamer is an invitation to yourself to explore your own creativity as TiWanna expresses a divine serenity through her words and encourages you to begin to write your own truth. You only live once and may die a million times during that one lifetime-nonetheless, you lived each day and evolved. -TiWanna Marie
