Emily Lapp has never been outside of the Amish community. Leaving took more than a little courage and joining the academy was her dream. Helping people made her happy and defending the innocent was her calling. She was never able to control her life with her parent's influence. It wasn't like she was trying to find a way to escape. This was strictly a professional decision. It wasn't until she was facing real life that she realizes she was going to have to adapt. Peter was an older seasoned officer and they struck up a friendship that began to blossom into something more. There was no accounting for how close they were going to get when they were patrolling the mean streets of Los Angeles.
