A raggedy gang of vampires, ancient tree creatures, bloodthirsty werewolf snakes, a seven-foot-tall anthropomorphous reptile, a coven of parasitic gossip queens, an otherworldly entity known as "Black Death," a corrupt pharmaceutical company, as well as a presidential candidate that has more baggage than the Dark Ages: all are welcomed in the second collection of ten horror novellas known as Midnight World. Meticulously crafted by author Dalivia Plaut, Midnight World Book Two consists of three disturbing volumes that delve deeper into the mysterious world known as Midnight World. The first volume, darkness_4.0 OS v.2.1, is centered around vampires, the undead, and the overreach of big tech. In A Sound Bite, the central character of Midnight World, presidential candidate Governor Avanti Washington, finds herself reliving past tragedies while preparing to delivery an important speech in order to seal her name on the ticket; however, what soon-to-be voters don't realize is that this candidate has quite a sound bite-literally! Next is Vampattire, a high-octane thriller which involves a young woman being hunted down by a deadly gang known as the Vampos. In the vein of Dickens' A Christmas Carol, Bat + Iguana introduces Readers to a seven-foot-tall anthropomorphous reptile named Creach. The next volume, Down With Darkness, reads like something out of a "Creature-Feature," starting with Tsuiho, which stars Zara Spears, a Japanese interpreter who is forced to confront an old legend after being called to a job that involves a burn survivor and a multiple homicide. Nite ViZion puts a new definition in the phrase "no holds barred." In a more intimate piece, small bites, one man unearths old demons while in bed with an escort who is hiding a deadly secret from her client. Finally, in the last volume, 1-800-Darkness, Pandora from Quidaquin County Diet, will unlock the secrets of Midnight World as she pieces together the clues of a past accident involving her sister. A Solitary Kind of Bee is based on a famous actor whose murder leads detectives down a road of deception and depravity, which has followed the late actor throughout his acting career. Finally, in the high-stakes novella, ext. 7, two adversaries will face off against one another while mankind is left hanging in the balance.
