"The Super-Duper, Exceedingly Brave Hero" is based on a giggle-worthy short story called "The New World", written as a creative writing assignment in 1989 by an American second-grader attending a British school. It tells of a young boy named Reid who, fueled by a mixture of boredom, mischief, and courage, starts an earthquake with his friend. With the world now crumbling and being swallowed by the sea, Reid reactively gathers everyone onto a plane and ascends into the sky. While realizing the mistake he had made and with nothing but water below, Reid looks forward, commanding them to land on a fluffy-white cloud, which they call "The New World." Now a magical, fun-filled adventure, living on a cloud is not as easy as it may seem, and Reid is forced to not only rescue everyone from unforeseen perils, but figure out a way to get the earth below back, and become the super-duper, exceedingly brave hero he was meant to be.
