Malibu Jesus

"Never be afraid of a big house. It's just a house, only more of it."Jesus is the 23-year-old son of Zulema, the housekeeper. He's had a run of bad luck lately. Lovelorn and purposeless, he's even ready to end his life. But that afternoon in the surf off Malibu's Zuma Beach, he impulsively rescues a stranger from a shark attack. His soul changes. The next day he wakes up lucky, and has no idea why. Traffic lights turn green for him, and he seems to have sprouted a gift for helping people. His newfound role as the reluctant 'Awakener' lands him in some extremely Malibu situations - always with one foot on each side of the fault line between rich and poor, reality and illusion, love and pain, comfort and disaster.
