A Stone Left Unturned

This play tells the story of an older lady who's put the finger on the right questions, but whose answers sound like a clock that doesn't work and gives the right time twice a day. With the time that's left to her, should she hurry and do do as much as possible, or slow down and risk being bored ? She thinks she's lonely, but in fact she's bored. She thinks she's depressed, but in fact she's unhappy. Having failed to turn one last stone, there's not much hope that she will find her missing answer, but the play is far from being melancholic, as the character reflects on her life with humor, like a burlesque tightrope walker, always on the edge. An older lady having seen the play said that it reminded her of her sister. Another one of her neighbor. They didn't recognize themselves. But this is encouraging: if people recognize others, then someone will end up learning that someone else recognized them. Ma aunt Jaja, 80 years old, read the play and laughed so much that she gave it to all her friends -- Céline Aucher, journalist This old lady has understood that life is a lonely journey. Each one of us is emprisonned in his or her own self. If we're all aware of it, then maybe we'll feel less alone ! -- Jean-Michel Terdjman, author of The Useless Self
