Astro-Kill

Title: Astro-Kill Genre: Crime Thriller Logline: An angry astrologer, starts killing off his colleagues when their forecast proves erroneous. Summary: Six astrologers from national newspapers and online magazines become embroiled in a murder plot. An angry 'reader' loses money on a property investment following the predictions from these astrologers, who foresaw an economic upturn in the housing market that failed to materialise. As a consequence, the 'reader' seeks revenge and redress from the astrologers. He goes on to demand that the astrologers go online and on TV to declare that they are all counterfeits. Without revealing his identity, the reader, as we are led to believe it is, calls the astrologers together at an isolated observatory, high on a hill overlooking a marina. There, in disguise, he tells them that because of their costly erroneous prediction and the fact that they are all a sham, two of them will die during the forthcoming 2 day annual astrology conference in Monterey Bay, San Francisco. He promises that 2hrs after that meeting, one of them will have a terrible accident. In fear and trepidation, the astrologers hastily come together and decide to kill off the reader. Unknown to them, this supposed reader, Gil Hepson, is one of them, angry at how wrong his colleagues got his forecast. The other astrologers, in keeping with their collective murderous plan, skilfully managed by Gil Hepson, find, and stalk and kill this reader, in the mistaken belief that he is the one after them. They then reckon that the threat to their demise has gone away with the reader's death but it continues when the reader 'resurfaces'. Convinced now that they have either killed the wrong reader or botched the murder, the astrologers turn their murderous eyes to another suspicious individual. It is during the surveillance of this second suspect and under other situations, that the rogue astrologer is almost exposed. Prior to Gil's creation of his own murderous plans against his colleagues, they, in envy, at his meteoric rise within the astrological community and beyond, had already met up and concocted a plan to do away with him. So that while they work with him towards bumping off this reader who is a threat to them all, they have also set up and are working against him towards his demise, without his knowledge, by producing tailor made predictions which he follows slavishly, without realising their source or intentions. After the initial first meeting, a subsequent war, is relayed to them using various technological and supernatural means, manufactured by the angry astrologer, who is dabbling in occultism, as a means of increasing both his astro powers and widening his reputation. Feigning utmost concern, over who the actual killer might be, the peeved astrologer calls in an ancient Wise Woman from the Indian sub-continent whom he knows to be a fake. The Wise Woman is welcomed and met at the airport by the astrologer, who goes on to put her up at his house. When, the ancient Indian Wise Woman, ensconced in Gil's home, is surprisingly accurate in predicting the killer's true identity, Gil panics and initiates an accident to mask being exposed, by having falling masonry critically wound the clairvoyant, putting her in hospital. After 2 days, two of the astrologers have been bumped and a third added to the list by means of a supernatural accident. The astrologers all go into panic mode, convene and put together a deadly plan. The tables now become turned, as the other astrologers openly begin to seek out and hunt the rogue one with the sole intention of killing him but ever wily, Gil Hepson continues to evade their murderous grasp. Gil, is eventually brought to his own death, not through the machinations of his astrological colleagues but by his own vaulting ambitious tool, the serpent he has brought to the USA, all the way from India, as a means of extending his supernatural powers.
