The Long Journey Home

Spring begins happily for Stella and Melody. But then their world disintegrates. The Civil War breaks out and nothing will ever be the same. Young men leave, stress and fear set in and livelihoods are threatened by high prices and lives lost. Then Peter Rosemond's letters are sent back, almost spelling death for anyone in the army. Stella doesn't believe he's dead. So, she heads off on a long journey to find out what really happened to him. She and Melody are exposed to danger and many adventures. They discover war's true nature and even get caught in the most horrific battle of the Civil War. But the lingering question remains: Is Peter dead? And deep down in Stella's heart, a new question and emotion come to light. But is it literally too late?
