This book, "The 40-Day Challenge," was developed by LaWanda Nall over years of work on foreign mission fields and churches across America. As Ms. Nall began working on lessons to help young Christians become rooted in their faith, she never dreamed that her faith would be challenged to the limit. Ms. Nall was accused of a crime that she did not commit and spent time in federal prison, where she took these lessons she had designed and taught inmates about how to have a successful relationship with God. Ms. Nall called this group of lessons she shared with the inmates the "40-day challenge!" There were 40 lessons and each one built on the previous one. She challenged the inmates and correctional officers to give God 40 days to either prove himself or they could walk away. She promised them that if they gave God a chance, they would be shocked at what he would do for them. If God did not show up for them, she would never ask them again to have faith in God. Regardless of whether you are incarcerated or free, you need to read this book! Challenge God to meet you these 40 days and show you how much he loves you and how awesome he can be when you give him control in your life. What do you have to lose-thirty minutes a day as you work through this book! This book has been used in courses inside state and federal prisons across America. At the time of publication of this second edition, over 60,000 inmates have completed life skills courses that utilized this book as a textbook. With over 33,000 of them giving their hearts to God. If you read the first edition, you want to read this second edition. Lots of new information and stories have been added, including new content that will make this book relevant for the 2020 to 2030 generation of souls searching for freedom and victory in their lives! You may ask why the topic, The 40-Day Challenge, but there was a strategic plan for this design. After listing the critical topics that the inmates needed to hear, the number was 40. Also, 40 is a number God uses in the Bible. Forty was a number that God used when warning the children of Israel. There are 40 years in a generation and 40 weeks in a pregnancy. Forty is as significant with God as the number seven. In the Bible, the number seven represents "completion," and forty represents "probationary warning." God always prepares us if we listen! All the warnings, dreams, prophecies, and the study on the "40s" warned me and gave me strength during this trial. God knew I would need something to stand on (a faith boost) when things got tough on the inside. It helped me knowing that I was in God's will, on a mission for my heavenly Father! The 40-Day Challenge: From the Cross to the Heart of Man was borne out of this mission experience. Even on the outside, this challenge has had powerful results for drawing people to God in the real world. Whether you are incarcerated or not, give God 40-Days. Watch him show up, show out, and change your life forever! It does not matter if you are incarnated or not; there are many lessons to be learned that will help you bring the love of Jesus Christ and the peace that he provides to your life! I pray that this book impacts your life forever and that you write to share with us what God has done for you!
