Icon English Vocabulary Success is a series of three books, each of which are intended for you to use when learning English. What's great about our book is that it can be used either with a teacher in a classroom setting or independently on your own time.

Vocabulary is one of the most vital aspects of learning a language. Without a rich vocabulary, how do you express the things you want to say? To keep things simple, each lesson is comprised of just 10 words. Their meanings and parts of speech will sometimes be included to help you determine which word works best in each fill-in-the-blank sentence. After the sentences, you will read a passage. These passages contain the 10 words from your vocabulary lesson. Reading these words in a narrative context will help you understand how these words are used, and how you can apply them yourself. After completing Stage I, you will have absorbed many intriguing new words. However, Stage II is different. These lessons are aimed at high school students who want to improve their writing skills. Many high school assignments require students to analyze complicated works of literature, but how can you complete those difficult assignments if you can't comprehend the words being used?
