Devlin O'Neill
Devlin O'Neill discovered Neverwasnia in 2013, and its strangely familiar inhabitants have been whispering their stories in his ear ever since. Here, then, are a few of the earlier accounts he gleaned from the fabulous denizens of this fantastic kingdom. In A Sourcerer's Apprentice, Tabitha Pennywhistle and her rodent familiar work for the venerable Mother Hibbard, collecting simples for lotions and potions. But Mother teaches skills other than how to make a soothing salve. Hanlett, Princess of Dayn Marque is O'Neill's ribald retelling of the Bard's corpse-strewn classic, only no one dies. There are ghosts, betrayals, and clowns telling grave jokes, as well as a guest appearance by the detective from A Sourcerer's Apprentice. Wondrous Hot Ice concerns a young skater and her coach, neither of whom will accept anything but her best effort in the rink. The three short stories are about a very fortunate romance author, a magical garbage collector, and several members of the Neverwasnian aristocracy. And, like all O'Neill works, the common thread that runs amongst these narratives is spanking. Editor's note: The works in this compilation are previously published.
