This devotional takes you on a chapter-by-chapter journey through the pages of sacred history as recorded in the Bible and the Conflict of the Ages Series. Each chapter contains a microcosm of the Great Controversy theme as played out in the lives of Bible characters. The church of today can learn from the successes as well as failures of holy men of old. History is the study of mankind, sacred history is the study of God's dealings with mankind. The study of sacred history lays the foundation for our understanding of our present day. In order to make wise decisions now, and avoid making the same mistakes of days gone by, we must learn from the strengths, weaknesses and experiences of the patriarchs, prophets and kings.
