Henry Sollien

Henry was born in 1926 and grew up in some of the toughest economic times in recent Norwegian history. Following the great depression during the 1930s, his education was cut short by the 5 year long Nazi occupation between 1940 and 1945. Although Henry did not mind physical labor - in deed he was very good at it due to his strength and agility following years of heavy athletic training - he felt that his potential was never fully realized without a proper education. However, from taking any and every job needed to support his family, working away from home at construction sites in Oslo for 10 years, he developed into an exceptionally skilled independent contractor, very much sought after by people who wanted high quality work on their homes, cabins and shops, or to restore old buildings to contemporary standard - and were willing to pay for it. He created homes all over the southern and eastern part of Norway for more than 30 years, leaving in his wake a display of his skills easily to be seen to this day - from the tiniest doll house to the largest, commercial agricultural building.
