I]n Nazis: British Views on Germany during the Second World War is ]to be found not only an excellent overview of the development of Nazism and the causes of the war, but also a genuinely revealing insight into the mindset of the German soldier and people. The book comprises a selection of articles from 1942-3 that originally appeared in the WAR and CURRENT AFFAIRS series of pamphlets published by the Army Bureau of Current Affairs for the education of British servicemen. Among the contributions is an eye-witness account of the Germans marching into Paris that provides some interesting aspects on the nature of the early occupation of the city. Much of the information on the Nazi mentality contained within the articles was gleaned from Germans taken prisoner in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
