Palo Duro: A Novel about Fraternity Rivalry at Wtsu in the Fall of 1969

Winston Fox, after a two year stint in the army, returns to West Texas State University in the fall of 1969 becoming President of Kappa Kappa fraternity, which has ruled the roost for the past 30 years - the number one fraternity on campus. Now Winston realizes there are major changes going on. WTSU is no longer a conservative college, but has become a wild and rebellious student body. Also, a new weapons assembly plant 18 miles from the campus has brought a wave of New York Italians to the university. With their money and fancy cars, they have turned the Delta Phi fraternity into a major threat to Kappa Kappa's number one status. Winston Fox must keep the alumni chapter satisfied by maintaining Kappa Kappa's number one fraternity status and at the same time keep his girlfriend Gloria satisfied.
