Mame, Sol, and Dog Bark

Mame, Sol, and Dog Bark follows the unfolding lives of a 21st
century couple shadowed by their faithful pooch. Also shadows,
the city and bay are backdrops as the poems explore tensions
created by the new century's prosperity, and its pervasive anxieties.
Mame asks:
Could the sea with its kind of seasoning
be an answer? For what question?
One labored day gives way to another.
Finger the string hanging in the balloon tree
and choose the same route;
as always it leads round and round,
one breath and then another
of questionable texture,
the sequence like string tree-tied
to a postponed present.
