Contrary to ill-founded doctrines of extremism, terrorism, and what is often portrayed in the media, Islam is based on peace: with blood relations, loved ones, colleagues, neighbors, communities and nations. However, one cannot establish peace unless one has peace in their heart. Today the world is in a perpetual state of chaos and unprecedented upheaval. Families are uprooted by social and political crises, poverty has spread worldwide, and corruption is rampant. How can peace coexist in such a negative environment?
