Rather than make a career of poetry, Stanley Paul Thompson has engaged a number of endeavors from which he has drawn the details and essence of personal experience and which he brings forth in this, his third publication. As is the prerogative of poets, Thompson will often use words not currently in vogue, supplanted by modern English usage and providing nuance and surprise. Along with unique turns of phrase, musicality and alluring rhythm the reader will also experience a modicum of historic perspective that says much about Thompson's intention to preserve and share a living past through literature with his grandchildren and those who will follow.
