Turtle wakes up one day and finds trash floating in the nearby river. He sets out on a mission to tell his animal friends to clean up and recycle. Blinded by the fact that Turtle is green, the grass is green and green is his favorite color, Turtle comes up with a rhyme to help solve the problem and spread the news to keep the earth clean. "Green means clean, you got to have green each and every day!" Turtle would like everyone, even you the reader, to practice recycling and find ways to reuse their trash and keep the earth clean.
Green Means Clean uses simple rhymes to teach the value of recycling. Teachers can also incorporate the use of this book in their lesson plans to help develop critical thinking skills, problem solve and ask questions. Teachers can also use this book in their cross curricular approach as it incorporates language arts, math, science and of course art.
