JAN MCGRATH is a lifelong actor, poet, and teacher. Her academic training spanned a BA at SUNY Albany, and graduate years at Penn State, University College Nairobi, and the University of Maine. Performing in Hawaii, she twice received the State Theatre Council's Po'okela nominations for leading actor. After adapting DANTE'S INFERNO and Milton's PARADISE LOST for Readers Theatre productions, she began writing her own scripts. These include fictional biopics--the first, and first in this collection, MURDERING MARLOWE. The other three here included are THE PARISH, an autobiographical 1950's Catholic family story; HOME FREE, a Kenyan-set global family tale; and OUTAGE, one overnight portrait of an atypical '80s family--a Playbuilders and TAG-produced 2014 Po'okela award winner for Playwriting.
