about the AuthorA 2018 Pulitzer Poetry Prize nominee and Inner Child Press International Cultural Ambassador to Iraq, Faleeha Hassan is a poet, teacher, editor, writer, and playwright born in Najaf, Iraq in 1967, who now lives in the United States. She is the first woman to write poetry for children in Iraq. The author has earned her Master's Degree in Arabic Literature and has published twenty-four books. Her poems have been translated into English, Turkmeni, Bosevih, Hindu, French, Italian, German, Kurdish, Spanish, Korean, Greek, Serbian, Albanian, Pakistani, Malayalam and ODIA. She has received many awards in Iraq and throughout the Middle East for her poetry and short stories. A large number of Faleeha Hassan's poems and short stories have appeared in various U. S.-based magazines and literary platforms.
