Confederate Kin, Volume II, is a continuation of endeavors in preserving the history of our ancestors during a time when America fought itself. The goal is simple: To honor the good name and memory of those men and women, which fought for their beliefs and cause during a time when one wore blue and the other wore gray. The purpose is to honor God and country, as we reflect upon the gallant efforts of a small band of brothers bound by the bond of Southern Independence. This book chronicles their efforts and offers insight into their contributions to our Appalachian American society before, during, and after the war. The Confederate Kin series offers insight into where we have been and points in the direction that we must go in order to continue the American legacy of tolerance and acceptance of ALL our history, including the good, the bad, and the ugly. We offer yet another chapter in the saga of our ancestors for God, Country, and Honor.
