The Ormskirk Poisoning
Andi Ali
Maureen Whittaker, a recently retired Internal Complaints Investigator from the Inland Revenue, is staying at Lupton Hall in Ormskirk. The house is home to Lady Lupton, a former work colleague she has not seen for over thirty years. When Lord Lupton is found poisoned, it seems to Miss Whittaker that the most likely suspect is her old adversary Baboo Khan, who was sacked from the Inland Revenue after complaints were made against him by five work colleagues. But Khan claimed he was not guilty then and he is not guilty now, and as he sets out to prove his innocence, he realises that in order to solve the case he must not only pit his wits against a particularly ruthless and ingenious killer, but also the stupidity of the Inland Revenue Investigator whose flawed investigation got him the sack thirty years earlier.
