The new beginnings of Amelia Blake

Amelia Blake has been through a number of things in her life that most average people would call failures: failure to live up to her mother's expectations, failure to have a successful, monogamous marriage, failure to have children... Most people. Not Amelia. Her passion for life and all its passions takes much more than that to be extinguished. Finding herself a widow in her early forties, she decides to reinvent her life, try something new, start anew. Unsure as of what this something new may be, she trusts life to make that decision for her and take her in the right direction. The answer might be in the new business opportunity. Or perhaps in a new romance. Or maybe in a memory she had long thought faded. Just as she begins to plant her roots and enjoy her new routines, she receives the news of her long estranged mother having had a stroke. The woman she hardly knew and never dared to love, now needs Amelia the way she once needed her.
