Enter the world of the mysterious and charismatic Inspector Oliver Goldberg and the team of police rejects who are drawn into his orbit. It's 2011, riots are ripping the heart out of North London and the UK's first, and only, Hasidic detective, hunts the vicious killers of young Muslim women. As events cascade out of control, and the investigation becomes ever more complex and global in nature, the importance of the victims seems to diminish - to everyone, that is, except Goldberg. Torn between duty, religion and two powerful women, his eccentric and dysfunctional life spirals into chaos, yet he remains implacably dedicated to the Lurianic concept of tikkun olam - repair the world - a heavy burden indeed for this deeply flawed and conflicted individual.
