This book is the story of an elephant born different. He was bullied out of his herd and he ran away from home. Along the way he discovered that being different is not bad. He learns that believing in himself is more important than trying to be like everyone else. Come join Jamba the Pink Elephant as he learns how to follow his heart and embrace difference. Art is the medicine for social ills. Since ancient times it has been the way a society had dealt with an ugly reflection of itself. It is through art that healing and maturity of can begin. "The Legend of the Pink Elephant" is more than a book. It is a message of love and compassion in a time fueled by intolerance and hate. It is 2018 and the world as we know it is being divided by the old fires of racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia and so many other different ways to hate. This kind of thinking leads to a dangerous tomorrow, and i would like to stop it if i can. This book is how I hope to reach the people of tomorrow, while their hearts and minds are open as children. It is how I hope to bring a spark of light in the darkened hearts and minds of the adults of today. By embracing difference we go beyond tolerating one another. We can learn to celebrate the wonderful things that make us different and alike. Only love can conquers hate.
