Human Eyes
Emanuel Dimas De Melo Pimenta
Over more than thirty years, since the 1980s, architect, photographer and specialist on cognitive systems Emanuel Dimas de Melo Pimenta collected hundreds of engravings from several countries, from the year of 1503 to our days, as a way to understand the iconological metamorphosis happened in that period of five hundred years. The collection is part of the transdisciplinary Walden Zero Project. Now, the book Human Eyes - 500 Years of Visual Metamorphosis presents about three hundred of those illustrations, created by more than one hundred great masters. The illustrations include names like the celebrated British painter William Turner, Phiz or Gustave Dorè among many others.
