Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are ubiquoitous in environment. They can be produce from natural as well as from anthropogenic sources. In the present study their adsorption was studied on different soil types. Native soil have good adoptations towards degradation of organiccompounds. Degradation pattern can be expedite by controlling certain conditions. Present study concludes that in acidic pH and high organic mtter soil can degrade selected organic compounds in 12 to 24 hours.
