The inspiration to write this book is to design such A text that should be easily understandable to undergraduate and graduate software engineering students using common language and daily life examples. The book starts with the first chapter general understanding and concepts of the SW, attributes, behaviors and problems related to software development. The 2nd chapter introduces the reader about software engineering principles and practices that are used in the software industry to develop the commercial projects. The 3rd chapter covers 'Communication and Planning' phases of SDLC. Scheduling details of 'planning' phase are introduced in chapter # 4. The 5th chapter explains the 'Modeling' phase with sub activities of analysis and design of software projects. The 6th chapter covers the details of 'Construction and Deployment' phases of SDLC those include the coding, testing, maintenance, Installation, training and documentation. The 7th chapter provides the details about software configuration and its management. Component-based software engineering (CBSE) is covered in Chapter 8.
