Wildlife resources have been abundant in past, yet scientific knowledge about the behavioral and biological requirements of animals did not receive adequate attention. Conservation of biodiversity in captivity and wild is essential for ecological balance in nature for sustainable development throughout the world. Conservation of indigenous fauna by captive breeding and also their rehabilitation in the wild which will completely fulfil the role of the zoos in conservation. Education relating to wildlife conservation is the most vital aspects in the Zoo. Comparative studies on wild free ranging animals and captive animals can help us give insight for improving zoo conditions. This in turn may improve breeding rare animals in captivity, which can ultimately help in species survival. In the present book Comparative study of behavior of Chital (Axis axis), Sambar (Cervus unicolor) in Captivity (Jaipur Zoo) and in Wild (Sariska Tiger Reserve), Rajasthan (India) has been made specially for the conservation of faunal Biodiversity.
