Factors Influencing Emotional Intelligence Among B.ed. Students

The negative skewness of Self Concept and Emotional Intelligence scores implies that most of the B. Ed. students are having higher than average Self Concept and Emotional Intelligence. The means of sub components of Self Concept show that, Character Component scores of the sample are highest; with Intellectual Component scores slightly higher than average, Aesthetic and Social Component Scores slightly lower than average, but strikingly the scores of Emotional component are mostly negative. In spite of these variations the Self Concept Score distribution is showing negative skewness, thereby indicating that in shaping overall Self Concept Character Component Plays most significant role, followed by Intellectual, Social, Aesthetic and least by Emotional Component. Higher Overall Self Concept indicates that sample is having high Character-Self Concept, which may be due to their innately enhanced socio-cultural, moral and spiritual values.
