The Religion of Islam: an Academic View
Aamir Al Mosawi
This book is unique in providing an accurate academic view of Islam and hopefully will help in removing any misunderstanding of this religion. All religions have been partially misinterpreted to some extent and Islam is not an exception. However, the Arabic Quraan is definitely unaltered. Therefore, the religion of Islam from the academic view is well documented. However, it is crystal clear that currently we can not find one unified version of the religion because of many factors that will be explained in this book. Misinterpretation of any religion can only be solved by academic study. For example, any native Arabic speaker when listen to the chapter ?Songs of Solomon 5: 16? recited by a Hebrew man can easily identify the name of the prophet of Islam Mohammad. The name of Mohammad in Hebrew bile is translated as ?altogether lovely? in King James Bible. For non-academics this will create controversies. When this issue is studied by an academic who is advanced both in Arabic and English, it will be crystal clear for him that the name of Mohammed in classic Arabic can also be literally translated as ?altogether lovely?, thus removing any misinterpretation or controversies.
