Sealing Ability of Selected Root End Filling Materials: a Comparative Study of Mta and Resin Modified Glass Ionomer Cement As a Root End Filling Materials

Hermetic seal of the root canal system is a prime objective of successful endodontic therapy. However, the microleakage between the root canal filling and the cavity walls may adversely affect the success of root canal therapy . The rationale for root end filling is to prevent microleakage. However, none of the materials used provide an impervious seal. Subsequently the microleakage is responsible for the failure of the surgical endodontic procedure.
