The work was carried out to test the safety, sterility and potency of Haemorrhagic septicemia vaccine which is being produced by Central Biological Production Laboratory (CBPL)in Nepal. CBPL, a government run laboratory is the only one of its kind in the nation for vaccine production. This study sets an example for periodic batch control test of the vaccines which are being used for commercial purpose thus contributes for the control of Haemorrhagic Septicemia in Nepal. Beside these it also aims to establish an in vivo challenge model for safety and potency test of HS vaccine in Nepal. the work can be taken as a reference for further relevant studies to be carried out in Nepal. Haemorrhagic septicemia problem in livestock industry of Nepal needs no exaggeration. This has been a continous threat since a long time ago. Thus similar scientific studies and research would highly benifit to strengethen the control strategies in coming future.
