The study evaluates the effectiveness of Community-Based Conservation programme for wildlife conservation and tourism management in Old Oyo National Park with the understanding that National Parks have become the most widely used category of protected areas in developing countries, including sub-Saharan Africa. On the other hand, Community-Based Conservation has emerged as the theme of the new strategy for wildlife management, which attempts to address the need of local communities. The specific objectives of the study are to examine local community perception of wildlife conservation and tourism management in the park and analyze the impact of the motivational incentives provided to local community on wildlife conservation. A combination of methodologies, including personal interview, participatory rural appraisal and participant observation techniques were employed to generate first hand data for the study. Descriptive statistics involving frequency count and percentages were used to analyze the data obtained..
