Impact of Oxidative Stress of Diabetes Mellitus on Red Cell Enzymes: Diabetes Oxidative Stress Lesds to Early Anemia

The cause of early anemia in diabetics most probably is the deficiency of the antioxidant enzymes in diabetes patients without nephropathy. The prevalence of early anemia in this study is 25% (about 67 patients), those have diabetes for 1-5 years, and have no nephropathy. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease and can cause anemia by itself, but these enzymes deficiency occurs early in the disease, so the cause of early anemia is not the chronicity of diabetes, but might be due to enzymes deficiency which has been caused by diabetes oxidative stress.
