Relevancy of Uppsala Model in Internationalization of Universities: from the Prospect of Australia

Study found remarkable differences between the internationalization process of the selected institutions and Uppsala model. The markets were mainly Asian countries; entry choice was driven by Rationality, favorable Market situations, demand of higher education and comparative advantages over the foreign market. The institution?s expansion in a single market was not followed by sequential pattern, rather institutions entered in different market with different establishments. The commitment decisions in a market were driven by multiple factors like current performance, favorable market situation, Reputation, development of resources, market knowledge etc. Uppsala model mentioned, the Market knowledge can be mainly gained through experience in the market, in contrast I found the institutions gain market knowledge through difference sources like: experience, research, from contacts, from partners, online etc. Finally based on the Empirical findings I have tried to contribute a model shows the internationalization process of the chosen institutions.
