Interactive Museums as Pedagogical Mediators
Diana Palacios-Ibarra
As a result of social isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, museums around the world have closed their physical doors, but some of them have opened digital windows to visit them through virtual tours. Through them, interactive and sensorial experiences are created, creating educational spaces, which constitute pedagogical mediators that help teachers to make their virtual classes more innovative, awakening the interest of their students. This section describes a research that is being carried out in Ecuador on interactive museums, which aims to replicate some resources supported by technology. Interactive museums as pedagogical mediators propose a fusion of knowledge and new experiences, which transport the student to a cultural environment encouraging the interest to interact, learn and visit museums; in this way they can renew and create new interactive and innovative experiences. Through interactive museums, the aim is to promote a different learning dynamic, and at the same time improve the student's willingness to receive new knowledge.
