However, despite every hardship life threw her way, her wit and eagerness to learn managed to take her away from the world of her gloomy childhood, working as a governess. While attempting to take care and educate young Adèle, Jane begins to form a close relationship with Edward Rochester, her student's father. But their love will get roiled after discovering his demented wife lives, locked up in one of the rooms in his house.
