The Job 1st edition
Agluppos
This life was supposedly chosen, once, in the past. A family, a kid, and toil in the market-oriented cemetery. The manic sexton guards workers who labour like demons in hell, cutting the grass. Same distorted life rules in the whole wide world around.
The anarchic (or near-psychotic) narrator erupts properly in the irreligious, mechanical world. Eternity is a contract, easily annulled. Still, there are ancient songs, the wise crows, and the ever-patient trees. And the nasty funny bone.
