Toy Gooden always did think the best of the people he knew - that's how his troubles all started, and just kept on gettin' bigger.
When ten-year-old Toy takes the blame for a killing done by his best friend, it sets off a chain of events that's a never-ending passel of trouble.
Ten years on, wanted for a robbery and murder he didn't commit, and hated by his whole home town, Toy has to save Wildcat Creek (those very folks) from the bloodthirsty Gilman Gang. With no other help than a meddlesome twelve-year-old orphan, an ancient decrepit doctor, and a pesky tomboy outlaw who keeps insistin' she wants to marry him, looks like Toy's got more troubles than a fingerless man in a gunfight.
